Fort Qaitbay is the site of Pharos Lighthouse, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The fort was built in the 15th century for the Mamluke sultan as a coastal defense system. The royal jewelry collection covers a period from Mohamed Ali to the end of King Farouk`s reign. A visit to the grand Sidi Aboul Abbas Mosque completes this wonderful day.
