Alexandria

 Alexandria

Alexandria, known as the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”, is the largest port and second largest, most populous city in Egypt. The city was built for Alexander the Great in 332 B. C. and became the seat of the Greco-Roman Empire. The Name “Alexandria” is inextricably associated with that of Cleopatra. It was there that she encountered Caesar and was later crowned. There, too, she met Anthony and, later, her tragic death.Alexandria is 217 km from Cairo.
